It was my first time to hold it, but because of my familiarity with PEN cameras, it took me just 5 minutes to familiarize myself with it. I just made a few customizations and I was good to go. The rest is history and now we have the longest running brand-specific camera club in the Philippines &ndash. It was also weather resistant and, by far, one of the most durable cameras I have ever used. My first DSLR was an Olympus E-1 which was then the top of the line from their line-up. I started using Olympus Digital cameras way back in 2005. They were also generous enough to lend each and every participant a PEN for the duration of the event. There were no groups specific to Olympus users then so I started an e-group in 2006. It only had 5 megapixels and a miniscule LCD but it was built like a tank. 19, I was fortunate to be invited by Red Dot Philippines to a Photo Shoot at Corregidor.

Buy Nikon D40x SLR camera or cheaper Olympus? Thank you so much?
Hi, I am deciding between Nikon D40x and Nikon D80. I also noticed the Olympus E-1 Sears portrait studio is using. I wonder if I need the Nikon since all portraits I got from Sears looks really professional.
Stick with the Nikon's. You already have the lenses and there is no good reason to change brands of cameras. The
D40x and D80 will use your 50,105,70-200 lenses, just not in the auto-focus mode since they are manual focus lenses.

Well I have an Oly E-500 (I think that is newer than the E-1) and I love it.

If you've seen the ads for the Sears photo dept., you'd know that having professional photographic skill isn't required. All you need is the personality to work with the public and they will train you.

maybe stick with the same brand would be good idea. unless the older lenses won't fit with new model. if you like to shop for digital camera by its discount price in percentage you can go to my profile to check out a discount store.

Hey, sure, it's in the photographer whether or not their images are going to be good but I really think I need a good camera as well to have better snaps.

The Canon 40D is ideal, all controls at your fingertips and we have never been tod by editors to have such and such a camera.
