Ricoh may launch a Pentax K-mount version of its GXR system, as well as a variable-angle LCD monitor. Asked if it would ever consider venturing into the compact system market, a UK spokesman said the firm would 'not rule anything out', though he admitted this would be a 'quantum leap'. General Imaging says it wants to focus on higher-end compact cameras as smartphones hit the lower-end market. Ayumi Saito, from the group's marketing division, said the firm has raised production since but would not reveal current levels. Im traveling to Aus and i need some good Binoculars but as there my first pair i wouldnt know what to go for i want i know nothing to high mag wise as i wont be using a tripod.

Personally i think the best binos are Steiner. You cant beat german engineering. I have several pairs of Steiner and they are excellent. I would recommend the Steiner safari 8x22 or the Steiner Safari Pro 10x26 both are small and the quality is excellent.

Stay away from zooms, zoom binos they're never as good as fixed power binos. If price is no object, have a look at the big three, that is swarovski, leica and zeiss. Look to spend around $600-$700 for their compact binos.
